Katara Hospitality has signed a memorandum of understanding for the management of a new hotel in Doha under the umbrella of Merweb brand. The deal was signed by Saeed Abdulla Al Amer Al Kaabi, president of Sphinex Hotels & Resorts and, on behalf of Katara Hospitality, by Hamad Abdulla Al-Mulla, chief executive officer.

Contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030, Katara, the Cultural Village and Aspire Zone Foundation today signed a Memorandum of Understanding which supports arts and culture in the realm of sports. The signing was attended by Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara and Hilal bin Jaham Al Kuwari, Head of Aspire Zone.

Qatar National Hotels Company has chosen to rebrand as Katara Hospitality. The move will see the launch of a completely new corporate identity, generated by a name more relevant to the company’s ambitious international expansion plans. It is hoped the new identity will herald a new era of opportunity for the hospitality giant, in line with Qatar’s own tourism development strategy.
