Leading car hire company Avis has launched a new Avis Preferred Select & Go service in America and Canada.

The new service will enable Avis Preferred members from Europe, the Middle East and Africa to benefit from new vehicle selection options when travelling to the States.

Avis Preferred is a free membership service, and the new Select & Go option will give members more control when selecting their rental vehicle in America and Canada.

Select & Go offers customers three options: they can drive away in their pre-assigned rental car, exchange their vehicle for no extra charge for another one from the designated Select & Go Exchange area, or upgrade for an additional charge by selecting a speciality car or SUV, also available from the designated Select & Go upgrade area.

Kaye Ceille, managing director, Avis Budget UK commented: “Our new Select & Go service gives both domestic and overseas travellers the opportunity to select the make, model, colour or size of their vehicle, so they can drive away in the vehicle that best suits their needs.

“Whatever a customer’s car rental requirements, this new service guarantees we do our best to ensure they are met.”

All options are available without having to visit the rental counter, with customers simply driving their selected vehicle to the exit gate and presenting a valid driver’s license to the Avis representative to complete the rental check-out process.

Avis Preferred Select & Go will be available in 50 airport locations in the United States and Canada by the end of 2012; ensuring customers are given a wide range of car rental options.
