Global travel technology company Sabre Travel Network has appointed Frank Bachér to lead its online business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), with additional country responsibilities for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic region. He starts with Sabre on June 1, 2012.

Bachér joins Sabre from the InteractiveMedia group at Deutsche Telekom AG, where he served as managing director, sales and marketing. Prior to that, Bachér was chairman of the board and managing director for eBay Advertising Group.

In his role at InteractiveMedia, Bachér led the company’s sales and online marketing team, overseeing product development and expanding the online advertising business for mobile and internet protocol television (IPTV). At eBay, Frank had responsibility for its online advertising business and commercial partnerships including the eBay credit card and eBay’s mobile initiatives. In both roles, Bachér led strong online growth, an improvement in customer satisfaction and the introduction of innovative products.

Bachér studied at the University of Lüneburg, majoring in business administration and media studies. Bachér is chairman of the Association of Online Marketers (Online-Vermarkterkreis OVK, part of BVDW), and a member of the working group Digital Media, VDZ. Bachér is married and has a two-year-old son. He will be based in Sabre’s Hamburg office.
