Mark Warner Implements New Reservations System: itour From Blue Sky

Mark Warner leads the travel industry into a new era with an £300,000 investment into itour, the new, revolutionary reservations system.

Mark Warner is the first travel company to implement itour; a fully browser based real time reservations system which has been designed over two years by the innovative technology company, Blue Sky, using world-class technology from Oracle.
The implementation of this cutting edge technology demonstrates Mark Warner`s hard hitting commercial approach to developing sales in what has been a difficult time for the travel industry.

The company has doubled sales in the last four years and ambitious sales targets are set to double sales again over the next five years.  When the new high speed reservation system goes live in the autumn, agents will be able to book Mark Warner holidays significantly faster, providing an ultra efficient service to both the travel trade and consumers.

Itour has been developed to provide a total integrated booking process. Agents will be able to secure all the additional elements that customers might require at the time of the initial booking.  These include childcare and scuba diving - right down to reserving tennis lessons.  The new system will also cut down on administration processes and abolish the need for booking forms. With a high-speed search facility itour will be able to automatically select the relevant accommodation with availability based on the clients` requirements.

Mark Warner will use the system to provide information on yield performance per individual sale and can cost each individual sale.  Agents can use the system to find out how much commission they have earned.  Overseas staff will also benefit from the itour system as they can dial in and get an up to the minute picture of bookings.  In the next 12 months the system will be expanded to include an agents extranet.
