Delta Express Expands Service Between New York City and Florida by 25 percent

Delta Express, Delta Air Lines’ (NYSE:DAL) low-fare airline, will give customers more nonstop service between New York and Florida with the introduction of new flights from both New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Long Island Islip MacArthur Airport on Nov. 1, 2002. The new flights increase the service Delta Express offers in New York City by 25 percent.
Delta Express will expand its service from six to eight flights daily between New York’s JFK Airport and Ft. Lauderdale, and expand its service between JFK and Orlando from four to five flights daily. From Islip, Delta Express will add one flight to begin offering two daily flights to Ft. Lauderdale.
“Delta continues its commitment to give customers more service between New York and Florida. As the largest carrier in the New York - Florida market, we provide an array of Delta, Delta Express and Delta Connection service,” said Subodh Karnik, Delta’s senior vice president - Network and Revenue Management. “From the six New York area airports, Delta served 3.4 million customers traveling to and from Florida in 2001.
“This additional low-fare Delta Express service gives our Florida customers even more flights to Delta’s JFK international gateway, where we offer nonstop service to more transatlantic destinations than any other U.S. carrier,” Karnik said. “Delta also offers nonstop service from JFK to 21 destinations in the U.S, and we continue to look for opportunities to provide more service for our customers at JFK.”

Delta Express continues to make its schedule more convenient for New York City customers with service from three metro area airports - JFK, Newark and Islip - offering 175 flights per week between these airports and Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando and West Palm Beach.
