Bonaire Acquire fresh Dive Site

Bonaire acquired its latest dive site by a matter of surprise last month when the ex-fishing vessel Our Confidence, sank without warning to depths of around 55ft. The Danish boat, which was used for refugee transport during WW II, sank just west of the harbour of the capital city of Kralendijk.
The vessel had reported problems of leaking earlier this year. The ship hit the bottom mast up, with her highest point being only 22 feet below the surface. The wreck has proved an ideal habitat for tropical fish, and will become an excellent dive site.
Before her farewell Our Confidence served as an inter-island freighter and was the ship to bring aid to hurricane victims on St. Martin in the late 1990s.
