Great Hotels of the World has announce the new Royal Blue Resort & Spa in Crete as one of its newest members.Located on the northern coast of the island in the small traditional village of Panormon, 55km from Heraklion airport, this brand new 5-star deluxe resort opens its doors on 19 June 2009.

With its own private bay, the resort’s simple and clean architectural lines featuring numerous waterfalls, streams and private swimming pools combine with colourful gardens to create a unique sense of luxury and simplicity.

Each of the 190 rooms, suites and villas are designed to reflect the resort’s colourful charm and tranquillity yet retain the traditional character and architecture of Crete. All water front rooms offer a private pool or Jacuzzi and all rooms offer an air-massage bath tub, breathtaking sea views, modern comforts and state of the art equipment.

The 1,500 sqm Pure Senses Spa & Fitness Center is spread over two floors and offers seven private treatment rooms including rooms for couples, a complete menu of treatments including black sand body scrub and exotic Ceylon massage, a relaxation salon, indoor heated pool, sauna, steam bath and fitness centre.

A wide variety of restaurants and bars are offered including the main restaurant with an open terrace and sea views serving international cuisine as well as three a la carte restaurants serving Italian, Asian and traditional Cretan cuisine.
