The Capital Hotel welcomes a new chef and restaurant

Great Hotels of the World is pleased to announce that member hotel The Capital in London will open its new restaurant - Outlaw’s Seafood & Grill – on October 2. The restaurant will give Cornish-based seafood championing chef Nathan Outlaw his first London outpost. Outlaw has already acquired two Michelin stars in his Cornwall restaurant. Guests can expect ecologically sound Cornish seafood, including sustainable catches from the UK. The menu includes superb dishes including “Grilled lemon sole with potted brown shrimp butter” and “Brill on the bone and whole Port Isaac lobster”. Pete Biggs, Outlaw’s right hand man and head chef of the London restaurant will oversee the kitchen, while Nathan Outlaw will commute between his two venues. The new restaurant will be located in the hotel’s refurbished dining room that for the past years has served as a restaurant for many talents of world gastronomy since David Levin opened it in 1971. The restaurant’s wine list will be built around the property’s enviable, long established cellar.

The Palace Hotel receives the Golden Green Key Certificate

The Palace Hotel in Noordwijk, member of Great Hotels of the World, has recently been awarded the Golden Green Key Certificate, moving up from the silver category. Qualification for this certificate can only be achieved through specific changes made to a property with the goal of creating a more environmentally friendly practice. The Palace Hotel has successfully completed all requirements and has gone an extra step in adding optional elements to its property, such as LED lamps, which have been installed throughout the entire property. Closely coupled with Social Responsibility, the Green Key conveys the prime focus the property has towards the environment and the effort the hotel will endure in order to preserve this mindset for the future.

The Provincial Government of Jakarta has awarded Great Hotels of the World member Century Park Hotel into the “very good” category for providing a non-smoking area in Jakarta at the “Environmental Appreciation Night 2012”.
