Dubai stokes tourism with global campaign

Dubai is embarking on a £10 million global campaign in an attempt to boost its tourism economy.

“Keep Discovering Dubai” aims to promote Dubai’s tourism facilities internationally and includes over 2,000 travel agents and tour operators being invited to visit the emirate over the next two months for three-day familiarisation trips to showcase the region’s accessibility, infrastructure and hospitality.

The campaign is being spearheaded by the Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Emirates Airline, as well as Dubai hoteliers.

Ian Scott, UK and Ireland director for the DTCM, feels that now is the time to explore Dubai: “As Dubai increases its offering of world-class hospitality, the emirate is the preferred holiday destination for tourists from around the world. And as Dubai continues to evolve, so it has developed a broad spectrum of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets, all of which retain the high standards that visitors have come to expect.

“A visit to Dubai is unlike a trip to any other destination - the emirate boasts a variety of entertainment and leisure activities from championship golf courses to internationally acclaimed restaurants, family-friendly theme parks and, of course, its celebrated coastline. And the DTCM recognises the importance of the travel industry in successfully promoting the emirate to both new and existing audiences,” he added.
