Travel Ad Network appoints COO

Brian Silver, a Travel Ad Network (TAN) Board of Directors since earlier this year, will join the company as Chief Operating Officer, a newly created position.

“This has been a year of extraordinary growth and achievement for TAN. We signed 18 new publishers including Kayak, Rand McNally and DK/EyeWitness Travel Guides; we launched our first video advertising campaign on LonelyPlanet.tv; we launched a UK office and grew revenue by over 50 percent,” says TAN CEO Cree Lawson. “Brian has been with us every step of the way as an advisor. We now welcome him in a more hands-on position where he will help us continue to break new records for reach, income and number of advertisers.”

Mr. Silver came to TAN from NetCash, a virtual gift card company where he has been Chief Operating Officer since 2006. Earlier in his career, Mr. Silver served as COO for Did-it Search Marketing, Vice President of Operations for IAC Advertising (the advertising solutions and sales division of Ask Jeeves, formerly AJinteractive).  He also was Vice President & General Manager of Ask Jeeves’ holding MaxOnline, which he joined in 2002 after facilitating the successful merger-as a strategic consultant-between MaxOnline business DoubleClick Media and interactive advertising firm L90. Prior to MaxOnline, Mr. Silver served as a Senior Product Manager for NOVO Media Group (now Semaphore Partners) where he developed large-scale websites for A-list clients. Before his interactive career, Mr. Silver spent 11 years in operations management for manufacturing facilities.

“The Travel Ad Network has achieved extraordinary traction over the past 12 months.  The advertiser base has grown significantly and our clients are thrilled with the results.  With more than 10 million unique visitors across the network, our advertisers have the ability to reach not only the highest quality traffic, but largest travel planning audience online,” says Mr. Silver. “I am very pleased to be part of the company and am excited about its future.”
