In-flight LiveTV enters European market

LiveTV has entered into an agreement with leading Italian carrier Air One, to provide in-seat audio/video systems on the airline’s fleet of new Airbus A320 aircraft. The service will offer multi-channel audio and video programs from on-board digital servers displayed on individual seatback screens. This is the first time the LiveTV multi-channel audio/video system will be available in Europe.

Under the terms of the agreement, LiveTV will provide the system equipment as well as Support and Content Management services.

LiveTV’s Wireless Aircraft Data Link will be installed on all aircraft, enabling fast content uploads and data exchange between ground stations and the aircraft.

This order is to equip 30 firm Air One aircraft, with the option to install the system on future aircraft deliveries. Installation of the equipment on Air One’s first aircraft is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2006.

“Throughout Air One’s history the company has been at the forefront of customer service,” said Pietro Pascale, Technical Director, Air One. “We continue this tradition with the introduction of multi-channel in-seat audio/video systems on our new aircraft. Our choice of the LiveTV system provides Air One an industry leading in-seat system for the price of a conventional overhead video system, with an upgrade path for the future.”

“Air One is one of the most innovative European carriers, and we are delighted that they will be our launch customer in Europe,” said Glenn Latta, President of LiveTV. “It proves that the LiveTV in-seat audio/video system has made conventional overhead video systems obsolete. In-seat systems will become the new standard for in-flight entertainment on single aisle aircraft.”
