DFDS and Stena strike Irish deal
Stena Line has bought two Irish Sea routes from DFSD Seaways in a deal worth €47.5 million – Belfast to Liverpool (Birkenhead) and Belfast to Heysham. It says the acquisition will enhance its Irish Seas services by offering several different alternatives for transportation between Ireland and the UK.

Indaba wins top exhibition award
Indaba has followed it’s success in this year’s World Travel Awards, where it picked up “Africa’s Leading Travel Exhibition”, to win an EXSA award for the best trade exhibition in South Africa in the over 12 000 square metres category.

Stratospheric growth for Dubai airport
Passenger numbers at Dubai International, voted “Middle East Leading Airport’s” by World Travel Awards, surpassed the four million mark for the second time in the airport’s 50 year history in October and that monthly total will soon become the norm, according to traffic results and projections released today by Dubai Airports.

London is better than Paris, French tourism officials conclude
French officials have conceded that London offers a better tourism experience than Paris, following a survey they commissioned themselves to explore ways to boost international arrivals.
Russia’s S7 joins oneworld
Russian domestic carrier S7 Airlines had joined oneworld. Its subsidiary Globus is also an affiliate member of the alliance.
