World Travel Awards celebrates in Singapore
Leading travel organisations from across Asia have walked off with top honours at a World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony hosted in Singapore. Mandarin Oriental, Banyan Tree, and Pan Pacific were among the brands to emerge victorious at the WTA Asia, Australasia & Indian Ocean ceremony at the InterContinental Singapore.
World Travel Awards set for InterContinental Singapore
The votes have been counted, the trophies polished and the VIP guests are starting to arrive in Singapore as the destination steps up to host one of the most important evenings of the year for the tourism industry - World Travel Awards Asia, Australasia & Indian Ocean Ceremony 2012. The annual World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony, hosted at the new Conrad Algarve, turned into a golden affair for Portugal earlier, with the destination picking up seven awards. The Algarve region, the golfing industry and five specific hotels were among the winners at the prestigious event.

Hotel Le Bristol, Paris, has received the much coveted title of Europe’s Leading Hotel at the World Travel Awards. Manager Leah Marshall was on hand to collect the trophy at a Gala Ceremony in the Algarve earlier, with the property also claiming the title of France’s Leading Hotel.

Norwegian Cruise Line has been named Europe’s Leading Cruise Line by the World Travel Awards for the fifth consecutive year. The 19th annual awards recognised travel companies for delivering an outstanding customer experience and are voted by travel agents and consumers worldwide.
DFDS Seaways takes World Travel Awards title
DFDS Seaways has been named Europe’s Leading Ferry Operator at the European leg of the 2012 World Travel Awards in the Algarve, Portugal. It is the sixth year running the ferry company has won a World Travel Award, last year winning both Europe’s and the World’s Leading Ferry Operator.
