Dubai-based airline Emirates will cut the number of flights it offers to United States following attempts to ban travellers from Muslim-majority countries by president Trump. Since taking office in November last year, Trump has signed two executive orders banning refugees and citizens from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the US.

Norwegian has outlined the next steps in its plans to launch transatlantic routes from Cork and Shannon Airport. The announcement comes as the airline’s Irish subsidiary Norwegian Air International was awarded a foreign carrier permit by the US authorities this weekend.
