SilverRail Technologies, the innovative technology business dedicated to supporting train companies to attract, interact and transact with their customers, has today launched its manifesto for the future of rail. The rail industry is primed to overtake air. High speed rail travel, continental deregulation and internationalisation have all signalled a step change in the way that rail operates.
A new report entitled “Rethinking Rail” has found rail bookings in Europe’s key markets topped €31 billion in 2014 – approximately double the amount spent on low-cost airline tickets. However, despite the growing market for rail travel, the industry has failed (unlike flight and hotel search) to exploit online, user-friendly booking procedures.
PASS Consulting Group has integrated SilverRail’s rail search and booking platform into its travel management system greatly expanding its rail offer. In addition to Deutsche Bahn, PASS clients can now book rail travel in the USA, Canada, UK, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy and Sweden through one standardised system.
Amtrak, the US national rail carrier, has extended its partnership with SilverRail for a further three years. Under the agreement, SilverRail, the developer of the first global distribution platform specialising in passenger rail, will continue to distribute tickets for Amtrak’s entire network to customers all over the world.

Online travel agent ebookers has announced a partnership with SilverRail Technologies to offer domestic and international rail holiday ideas on its websites. ebookers plans to offer stand-alone rail as well as packaged rail journeys including hotels and other travel products.
SilverRail Technologies has announced its rail search and ticketing platform SilverCore will integrate multiple rail connections from around the world into a single booking system. This platform removes the complexity of selling rail by allowing customers to search and buy tickets for multi-country journeys with two or more train operators in a single booking.
GetThere and SilverRail Technologies have signed an agreement where the latter will deliver global rail content including additional European rail providers to the former.
