Expedia to acquire majority stake in SilverRail Technologies
Expedia and SilverRail Technologies have entered into a definitive agreement in which Expedia will acquire a majority stake in SilverRail. SilverRail set out to solve rail’s most challenging technology problems and has been an important Expedia industry partner, helping to bring online booking for rail to customers.

SilverRail urges UK train passengers to move online
SilverRail has revealed behavioural trends of UK travellers when purchasing rail tickets and highlights a number of opportunities for the industry. Data included in the company’s first Market Insight Report indicates that only 20 per cent of all UK rail tickets purchased in 2015 were through online channels, despite growth in online sales over the past seven years.
