Ryanair to launch new Larnaca-Brussels route
Ryanair has launched a new route from Larnaca to Brussels. Starting in January, the low-cost carrier will offer two weekly flights to the Belgian capital every Monday and Friday. The airline hopes the departure will contribute to the delivery of over 625,000 customers per annum to Cyprus.

Ryanair will open a new base at Santiago, its 12th in Spain, for Summer 2016, with one based aircraft following an investment of $100 million.
Ryanair raises full year financial guidance after bumper summer
Ryanair has raised its full year net profit guidance by a quarter from a current range of €940-€970 million to a new range of €1.175-€1.225 billion for the financial year. The moves comes on the back of stronger than expected peak summer traffic, with travellers also paying slightly higher than expected air fares. Ryanair had originally planned to update shareholders on current trading at the annual general meeting at the end of September.
Ryanair predicts European price war as fuel continues to fall
Irish carrier Ryanair has predicted a price war among European airlines as falling fuel prices see prices cut. The carrier predicted the cost of tickets could fall by between six and eight per cent in the second half of 2015, as airlines battled it out to attract passengers. The average cost of a single one-way journey with the airline presently sits at €47.

Bristol Airport re-opens after security alert
Passengers were evacuated and all flights diverted following a ‘bomb threat’ at Bristol Airport on Saturday evening, according to reports. A suspicious note saying a bomb was on board was found during a routine inspection of a Ryanair plane after it arrived at Bristol Airport from Spain.
Ryanair loses delay compensation case in Manchester
A judge at Manchester County Court today ruled in favour of consumers in the flight delay test case Goel & Trivedi v Ryanair – a decision which stands to benefit millions of passengers. Judge Platts ruled Ryanair cannot dictate how long passengers have to claim flight delay compensation through a clause in its small print.
Ryanair agrees to IAG acquisition of Aer Lingus stake
Aer Lingus Group will become part of International Airlines Group after its offer for all outstanding shares was formally accepted. Ryanair was the last piece to fall into place for, IAG with the Irish low-cost airline waiting until deadline day to accept the offer. Ryanair’s acceptance was a condition of the offer which is now wholly unconditional as all the conditions have been satisfied.
Ryanair launches daily service to Sofia
Ryanair will launch a new daily service from London Stansted to Sofia, beginning in May 2016, which will go on sale from September. Sofia will be Ryanair’s second Bulgarian airport, following Plovdiv.

The board of Ryanair has voted unanimously to accept an offer from International Airlines Group for the low-cost carrier’s 29.8 per cent shareholding in Aer Lingus Group. Ryanair’s stake in Aer Lingus has been available for sale since May 2012, after failed attempts from the low-cost giant to acquire the whole of the Irish flag-carrier.
Hertz terminates rental contract with Ryanair in GDS dispute
The Hertz Corporation has said that, despite lengthy discussions regarding a contractual dispute, it has ended its car hire agreement with Ryanair. The rental giant alleges Ryanair’s agreement with GDS distribution companies represents a breach of contract, a claim Ryanair disputes.
Ryanair continues to battle Competition authority on Aer Lingus sale
The Competition & Markets Authority has reiterated its demand for Ryanair to sell most of its holding in Aer Lingus. The low-cost carrier must cut its stake in the Irish flag-carrier from 29.8 per cent to five per cent. Ireland’s government has agreed to sell its 25 per cent stake in the airline to International Airlines Group – owner of British Airways and Iberia.
