Ryanair announces share buyback at profits rise
Ryanair has announced quarter three profits of €103 million, a 110 per cent increase on prior year. Traffic grew 20 per cent to 25 million over the period, as average fares fell one per cent to €40. The low-cost Irish carrier also saw load factors rise five per cent to 93 per cent, while unit costs fell by five per cent.
Ryanair strikes pay deal with European cabin crew
Ryanair has negotiated a five year pay and conditions deal with all of its 76 cabin crew bases across Europe, following the successful conclusion of similar five year deals at all 76 pilot bases. Following weeks of direct negotiations between Ryanair and its elected cabin crew representatives, using long established collective bargaining structures, Ryanair’s cabin crew at all of its 76 bases have voted to accept new agreements.
Ryanair launches Business Plus fares with Amadeus
Ryanair has announced that its Business Plus fare is now available to travel agents on the Amadeus network, allowing even more business customers to travel on the lowest fares. Ryanair head of corporate, Tim Howe Schröder said: “More and more business travellers are choosing Ryanair as their preferred airline doing business trips and we are pleased to announce that our Business Plus product is now available to book through Amadeus.
Airlines for Europe launches in Amsterdam
Airlines for Europe, Europe’s new airline association, has officially been launched at an EU Aviation Summit in Amsterdam. The new association has been founded by Europe’s five largest airline groups – Air France KLM, easyJet, International Airlines Group, Lufthansa Group, Ryanair – to represent the interests of its members when dealing with the EU institutions, international organisations and national governments on European aviation issues.
Wenk to take up marketing operations director role at Ryanair
Ryanair has announced the appointment of Matthias Wenk as marketing operations director, where he will oversee all advertising, brand communications and sales functions. Ryanair chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs said: “I am pleased to welcome Matthias Wenk to the marketing team, where he will take the new role of marketing operations director, overseeing our advertising, brand communications and sales and marketing activities, as we continue to grow traffic, destinations and routes across Europe.”

Ryanair to launch Gatwick-Belfast route this summer
Ryanair has launched a new service from London Gatwick to Belfast International, which will operate four times daily from March, as part of its summer 2016 schedule. The new route will offer customers even more choice from London, as Ryanair grows by 60 per cent at London Gatwick Airport.

Ryanair has announced the appointment of Cristian Samoilovich as its first head of public affairs. Samoilovich brings experience in government relations having previously worked for Boeing and Airbus, and will lead Ryanair’s public affairs engagements with EU institutions and European governments.
Ryanair welcomes eDreams changes following High Court action
Ryanair has welcomed changes made to the eDreams display on the Google search page, less than 36 hours after the low-cost carrier initiated legal proceedings against both companies to stop consumers being deceived. The eDreams paid advertising has been amended to now read ‘Ryanair Flight on eDreams’, instead of ‘Ryanair: Cheap Flights’.
Ryanair launches High Court action against eDreams and Google
Ryanair has announced that it had launched High Court proceedings against both eDreams and Google to stop the companies “misleading” consumers by advertising non-existent fares. The low-cost carrier argues the eDreams website and Google search adverts carry such fares. These practises are prohibited by consumer legislation.
Sharp increase in profits at low-cost carrier Ryanair
Ryanair has announced first half profits gave risen 37 per cent to €1,088m. Traffic grew 13 per cent to 58 million as load factor jumped four per cent points to 93 per cent. Average fares rose two per cent as unit costs fell six per cent. Fuel prices were flat during the period.
