Qatar Airways has welcomed the delivery of its first A380 at a press at the Airbus Factory in Hamburg. With ten Airbus A380-800s on order, Qatar Airways is preparing to take delivery of four of them before the end of this year. Speaking at the press conference chief executive Akbar Al Baker said: “This has been a moment more than a decade in the making and we are so delighted to unveil a new passenger experience for our travellers.”

Qatar Duty Free has opened three new restaurant concepts at Hamad International Airport: Soprafino, Qataf Café and Le Grand Comptoir. Located in concourse C, close to the iconic lamp bear, the new restaurants raise the bar yet again in airport dining by providing a sophisticated environment offering world-class cuisine.

As a further demonstration of its commitment to expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia, Qatar Airways will be launching an additional daily flight to Madinah from October 26th, 2014. The additional flight will increase the number of Qatar Airways’ weekly flights on the Doha – Madinah route from seven to 14 weekly services.

Qatar Airways is responding to the increased demand for its services to Istanbul by announcing an addition of three weekly flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport making the route daily, commencing October 26th, 2014. The non-stop four-flights-a-week service from Doha to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport was initially launched on May 22nd this year, marking Qatar Airways’ expansion to its third route in Turkey.

Qatar Airways has announced increased frequencies to the popular cities of Tehran, Islamabad and Muscat. The additional flights, which include four for Tehran, two for Islamabad and four for Muscat per week, will commence September 1st, 3rd and 16th respectively.
