Qatar Airways boosts Manchester flights to double daily
Qatar Airways will operate additional services between Doha and Manchester from February 15th 2015, providing customers with ever more convenient options when transferring onto long-haul services to Africa and Asia Pacific via the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport. Operated by a dual class Airbus A330-200 aircraft, the new outbound QR26 and inbound QR25 will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, bringing the total number of flights operated per week non-stop between Manchester and Doha to 14.
Qatar Airways reveals plans for Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen route
Qatar Airways, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, will expand its flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport from March 29th 2015, as it increases its frequency to a double-daily service. Qatar Airways to offer direct daily flights to Edinburgh
Qatar Airways will operate a daily direct scheduled service from Edinburgh Airport to Doha’s Hamad International Airport from May 1st 2015. The announcement comes just six months after the successful launch of the five-weekly service on the route and reinforces the airline’s commitment to add additional frequencies on the route, which it announced at the launch.
Qatar Airways adds three aircraft to fleet in single day
For the first time in its history, Qatar Airways has taken delivery of three new aircraft in one day, as two Boeing 787 Dreamliners and one Boeing 777 joined its rapidly expanding fleet. The delivery took place in Seattle, brining the airline’s fleet count up to 139 passenger and cargo aircraft.

Qatar Airways’ first A350 XWB in full airline livery has successfully completed its maiden flight over the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France. The airline, which is the global launch customer for the Airbus A350, is scheduled to take delivery of its first A350-900 before the end of the year.
Qatar Airways reveals Frankfurt as first A350 Xtra destination
Qatar Airways has announced Frankfurt as the first route for its highly anticipated A350 Xtra Wide Body aircraft. As the global launch operator of the A350 XWB, the programme will achieve another major milestone once the airline receives its first aircraft before the end of this year. Upon delivery, following several weeks of induction preparation, Qatar Airways will then be set to introduce its first commercial service to the German business hub city of Frankfurt.
Qatar Airways places new Gulfstream order
Qatar Airways has signed a memorandum of understanding with Gulfstream Aerospace for the purchase of up to 20 aircraft. The agreement was announced in conjunction with Gulfstream’s introduction of an all-new family of business jets, the Gulfstream G500 and G600. The deal establishes the initial agreement for Qatar Airways to order up to 20 Gulfstream aircraft, including firm orders and options for the all-new, wide-cabin G500 and the flagship G650ER.
Qatar Airways launches A380 on London-Doha route
Qatar Airways’ first A380 has commenced services on the popular Doha-London route marking another major milestone for the airline. The arrival of the world’s largest commercial airliner on the Doha-to-London service reinforces Qatar Airways’ presence in the United Kingdom, with six flights a day between the two cities in addition to direct services from Doha to Edinburgh and Manchester.
Qatar Airways follows BA deal with Vueling codeshare
Qatar Airways and Vueling have signed an interline agreement that will enable Qatar’s five-star national airline to increase the number of passengers to Europe, while strengthening Vueling’s hubs in Rome and Barcelona. The agreement will also improve trans-European traffic by providing passengers with an even greater range of options for long-haul connections.
Hamad International Airport traffic climbs
Hamad International Airport has reported an increase in its monthly passenger statistics compared to those at the old Doha International Airport (DIA). HIA saw an 11.36% passenger increase through its doors in July 2014 compared to July 2013. A total of 2,160,843 travellers departed, transferred and arrived into Qatar during July 2014.
