Second Qantas aircraft forced into emergency landing
A Boeing 747-400 operated by Qantas has been forced to make an emergency landing in Singapore – the second aircraft from the carrier to do so in two days. The aircraft – on route to Sydney - turned back shortly after take-off from Changi Airport, airline officials said.
Qantas grounds A380s following emergency landing
Qantas has grounded its six strong fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft following an emergency landing in Singapore. Flight QF32 to Sydney experienced an “engine issue” soon after takeoff earlier this morning and returned to Singapore. No injuries are reported as Qantas launches an investigation into the incident.

Toll Group has revealed the latest stage of its expansion programme with the acquisition of express air freight business DPEX Group from Qantas Asia Pacific. Airlines lose Australian fuel surcharge case
Qantas has lost a Federal Court case against travel agents in Australia, which could see the airline forced to pay millions in additional ticket commissions. Following an appeal against an earlier decision, the court ruled fuel surcharges are not a tax, and thus should be included in commissions.

Qantas today announced a statutory profit before tax (PBT) of $90 million for the six months ended 31 December 2009.
Qantas slashes first class as profits slide
Qantas Airways is cutting first-class seats from all but a few key routes following a 72 percent slump in profits. The flag carrier blamed the figures on falling customer demand and said it was also scrapping dividend payments.
