A shake up at the top also sees Perth businesswoman Kate Lamont and former Virgin Blue chief executive Brett Godfrey take up positions on the board.

Toll Group has revealed the latest stage of its expansion programme with the acquisition of express air freight business DPEX Group from Qantas Asia Pacific. The deal follows similar moves the Deltec, Skynet and Kwikmail businesses in the middle of last year and is expected to take revenue past A$6.5 billion in 2010.

Qantas has lost a Federal Court case against travel agents in Australia, which could see the airline forced to pay millions in additional ticket commissions. Following an appeal against an earlier decision, the court ruled fuel surcharges are not a tax, and thus should be included in commissions.
