Ryanair opens 4 Manchester routes in 2014
Ryanair, Europe’s favourite low fares airline, today announced it will open 4 new routes from Manchester (in March 2014) as well as adding frequencies on 5 existing routes, which will deliver 2,100,000 passengers p.a. and support 2,100 on-site jobs at Manchester Airport.
Germanwings opens two new routes to London Heathrow
This week sees the first flights from Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg to Europe’s largest airport, London Heathrow. Germanwings is now offering two new connections from Germany to Europe’s largest airport. For the first time on Monday morning, the Germanwings jets took off from Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg, destined for London’s London Heathrow.
Malaysia Airlines adds flights to Krabi
Effective February 3rd 2014, Malaysia Airlines will be offering four times weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Krabi, Thailand. MH770 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 14:55 and will arrive Krabi at 15:40. The return flight MH771 will depart Krabi at 17:20 and will arrive Kuala Lumpur at 20:05.
Malaysia Airlines increases capacity to Australasia

Flybe confirms new route from Birmingham to Newquay

Fly-SAX launches new route to Comoros Islands
Fly-SAX, Kenya’s premier safari and private charter airline, is pleased to announce the launch of a new international route to the Union of the Comoros (“the Comoros”). Flights between Nairobi and Moroni, the capital of the islands, will commence on 18 October.
SIA to operate seasonal services to Athens
Singapore Airlines is adding a temporary new service to the Greek capital Athens between June and October 2014 as demand continues to rise. Flights will be operated twice per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, between 9 June 2014 and 9 October 2014. Boeing 777-200ERs will be used for the flights.
Pegasus Airlines launches Moscow flights
Pegasus Airlines will be launching flights to Moscow, capital city of Russia on 8 October 2013, continuing the rapid expansion of its flight network. Moscow will be the latest addition to Pegasus’ Russian network following the recent addition of new routes to Omsk, Krasnodar and Sochi, with flights to Moscow from London starting from just £112.65 inclusive of taxes and charges as from 8 October.
Emirates adds Boston route
Emirates is to launch a further transatlantic link with the start of flights to Boston from 10th March 2014. This will be the airline’s 8th route into the United States, 9th into North America and 12th into the wider Americas.
Romanian carrier Tarom flies into Luton
The national airline of Romania and SkyTeam member Tarom has today announced a new service to Iasi, Romania from London Luton Airport. The route will see a 134 seat Boeing 737-300 operating in a two class configuration. Services will operate twice weekly from London Luton commencing Tuesday October 29th 2013.
Hainan Airlines begins non-stop service between Chicago and Beijing
China’s Hainan Airlines officially commenced non-stop service from Chicago to Beijing, opening the airline’s newest American gateway. Mainland China’s only certified Skytrax® five-star airline will operate service out of Chicago twice per week on Tuesdays and Sundays
British Airways to fly Dreamliner on Austin route
British Airways is set to become the only airline to offer direct flights from London to Austin in Texas from 2014. Starting in early March 2014 with five flights a week before moving to daily flights on May 5th, the airline’s brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner with its three-cabin layout will serve the route to the Texan capital.
