Minor Hotel Group signs with Dubai Properties for new hotel
Minor Hotel Group has announced a partnership with Dubai Properties to develop a new Anantara to open in Dubai in early 2018. Anantara Dubai Creek Hotel will be located in Culture Village, a new world-class destination being developed by Dubai Properties Group in the east of the city facing Dubai Creek.
Minor Hotel Group unveils plans to take Anantara brand into Malaysia
Hotel owner Minor Hotel Group has announced that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with Destination Resorts & Hotels to develop an Anantara resort in Malaysia. Under the collaboration agreement, both parties will identify a suitable location to co-develop a luxury resort and residences under the world-renowned Anantara brand, bringing its legendary hospitality and service in the environment of Malaysia’s rich cultural and architectural diversities.
Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa opens to guests
Avani Hotels & Resorts, the vibrant upscale brand launched by Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group in 2011, has opened Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, the group’s first property in the Indian Ocean destination. Just a 25 minute drive from Seychelles International Airport, the resort is located on tranquil Barbarons Beach along Mahé’s west coast and opens following an extensive $14 million refurbishment.
Minor goes global with Tivoli Hotels acquisition
Minor Hotel Group has announced it has made a strategic acquisition of six hotels and over 1,600 keys in Portugal and Brazil. At the same time Minor has acquired the Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in Brazil. The milestone €168 million investment represents MHG’s entry into the hospitality sector in two new continents and establishes Portugal and Brazil as MHG’s two strategically-chosen countries for future expansion into Europe and South America.
Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel & Spa set to open in 2015
Minor Hotel Group is set to reflag one of its owned properties, the Four Seasons Bangkok, to its luxury Anantara brand. Located in prestigious Rajadamri in central Bangkok’s Siam district, Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel & Spa will join the brand’s Thailand portfolio on March 1st 2015. Minor Hotel Group will make a significant investment to enhance the hotel.
Minor Hotels adds new resort in Zanzibar, Africa
Minor Hotel Group has added a resort on the Indian Ocean island of Zanzibar in Tanzania. Currently operating as Essque Zalu Zanzibar, MHG has recently taken over the management contract and the property will be transformed into a Per AQUUM resort by the end of 2015. MHG already has a strong presence in Tanzania, operating two spas in addition to six properties that are part of Elewana Collection.

Minor Hotel Group has invested approximately US$101 million to acquire 49 per cent of a hotel and mixed-use property project in Maputo in a joint venture with Rani Investment.
Minor Hotel expands Anantara brand with Sun International deal
Minor Hotel Group has announced the formation of a new strategic partnership with Sun International to own and operate a collection of eight properties in five African countries. MHG has invested a total of US$ 63.9 million to own a 50 per cent stake in two properties in Zambia and between 37.5 per cent to 80 per cent stakes in six further properties – one each in Botswana and Namibia, along with two properties in Lesotho and Swaziland.
