Minor Hotel Group expands Mozambique portfolio
Minor Hotel Group has announced the addition of three properties in Mozambique to its portfolio and a 25 per cent equity investment in the properties. They will be reflagged to MHG’s Anantara and AVANI brands later this year and take the total number of MHG properties in operation to 108 and the total number of rooms to over 13,000.

Minor Hotels takes Anantara into Mozambique with Rani Investment
Minor Hotel Group, a hotel owner, operator and investor, has announced the formation of a long term strategic partnership agreement with Rani Investment, the owner of high end resorts across Africa. The two organisations have formed a joint venture company for ownership of Indigo Bay Resort & Spa in Mozambique, with plans for further expansion in Africa.
Minor Hotel Group takes stake in Per Aquum
Minor Hotel Group, a Thailand-based hotel owner, operator and investor, has made a US$4 million investment in Per Aquum Retreats, Resorts and Residences. The investment equates to a 50 per cent stake in the brand.
Minor Hotel Group brings AVANI to Thailand
Minor Hotel Group, a hotel owner with 87 properties in operation across twelve countries, has announced the first AVANI hotel in Thailand. Currently operating as the Amari Atrium Bangkok, MHG will take over the management contract of the 568 key hotel from October 1s 2013.

Minor Hotel Group expands in Phuket
Minor Hotel Group (MHG) has announced the addition of a new property to its portfolio in Phuket, Thailand. Located on Layan Beach on Phuket’s north west coast, just 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, Bundarika Villas & Suites features 77 villas and suites on 400 metres of secluded beach.
Kunkler appointed as senior vice president with Minor Hotels
Minor Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Robert Kunkler as senior vice president hotel operations. Kunkler, who is from Freiburg, Germany, will be responsible for the performance of all operating Anantara properties across all geographies, and for the successful opening of those which are already in or join the future openings pipeline.
Minor International seeks Oaks share boost
Minor International has its intention to boosts its holding in Australia-based Oaks Hotels & Resorts, valuing the company at 35 cents (A$) per share. Currently, Minor holds a 14.96 per cent stake in the organisation, which it is seeking to expand by fiver per cent to 19.96 per cent following Foreign Investment Review Board approval.
Minor inks major Sri Lanka investment
Thai hospitality brand Minor International has secured a key investment in Sri Lanka with the acquisition of local resort owner and developer, Cyprea Lanka. The $22 million deal includes the Kani Lanka Resort & Spa, Kalutara, and an adjacent plot of land primed for the development of the Anantara brand.
