ITB Supply gears up for its fourth year at ITB Berlin

ITB Supply is being staged next month for the fourth year in succession and is already well established as a major segment of ITB Berlin. This year 35 exhibitors will be presenting innovations in the product groups of hotel fittings, sales promotion and advertising, organisational materials and services.

Shift out of “expensive” Eurozone as downturn bites

The number of tourists visiting European destinations in 2009 is expected to contract slightly at best, given the current economic environment, but things could get worse. However, Europeans earning in the Eurozone who retain their jobs in the economic slump will find non-Eurozone destinations more affordable. These initial findings and predictions are from the ITB World Travel Trends Report 2009. The report, produced by IPK International, suggests that new tourist arrivals records are likely to be broken in 2011-2012.

The crisis facing the global hotel industry has sparked leaders and experts to meet on 12 March 2009 for a special day of discussions during the forthcoming ITB Berlin 2009. International experts at the ITB Hospitality Day will discuss current tendencies and future trends. Under the slogan “Hotel industry - quo vadis?”, the global CEO panel will include Andrew Ed Fuller, Marriott International; Gerald Lawless, Jumeirah Group; Ted Teng, the new CEO of the Leading Hotels of the World; and Andrew Cosslett, InterContinental Hotels Group.
