Ryanair adds Israel flights to winter schedule
Ryanair has launched its Israel winter 2017 schedule, with 19 routes, some 15 of which are new. The low-cost carrier will operate seven new Tel Aviv routes later this year, with flights from Baden Baden, Gdansk, Krakow, Milan Bergamo, Paphos, Poznan and Wroclaw on offer.
Western Wall Heritage foundation launches new interactive experiences
The Western Wall Heritage foundation has launched three new interactive experiences showcasing the 2,000 year old history behind the wall and how the original Temple Mount looked. Through the use of innovative, virtual reality technology, video and guided tours, visitors are able to immerse themselves in the wall’s history and better understand the site’s continuing, global significance.
InterContinental David Tel Aviv takes World Travel Awards title
InterContinental David Tel Aviv, a destination hotel located in the heart of Tel Aviv, has been selected by the World Travel Awards as Israel’s Leading Hotel. Announced at the top international tourism organisation’s European Gala Ceremony in Italy, the InterContinental David Tel Aviv led all the other hotels in the country.
El Al launches new Israel-Boston route
El AL has launched three direct flights between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport and Logan International Airport Boston on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The three weekly flights to Boston will operate on a 767-300 Boeing aircraft with 218 seats, including 22-bed like seats in Business Class and 28 seats in Economy Class Plus.
Israel offers cash incentives for airlines flying to Eilat
The Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced a new tourism directive to encourage airline operators to fly to Israel’s Red Sea resort, Eilat. From October 6th the ministry will reimburse airline operators €45 for every passenger flying to Eilat’s Ovda Airport, up to a total of €1 million per annum per airline. The incentive will remain in place until April 22nd, 2016.

The new Pavilion 2 has opened at the Tel Aviv Convention Centre, transforming the current site into one of the most advanced convention centres in the Middle East. Low-cost airlines welcomed to Israel
Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion International Airport has opened a new passenger hall in Terminal One to accommodate an expected increase in international budget airlines flying into Israel following the Open Skies Agreement signed with the European Union earlier this year. The new passenger hall will allow the number of weekly low-cost flights to increase from 22 to 55 over the winter 2013/2014 season.
Israel continues incentives focus with new appointment
The Israel Government Tourist Office has announced the appointment of Janice Grant as its new MICE specialist. Grant will be responsible for overseeing the development of IGTO’s MICE strategy and will continue to develop IGTO’s ties within the industry.
ICC Jerusalem plans large expansion to meet growing demand
ICC Jerusalem is about to begin a series of renovations designed to add thousands of square meters to its floor space. A huge complex, with a congress hotel, trading centre and local businesses will be built next to the existing structure, as part of Jerusalem Municipality’s new Business Quarter plan.
Tel Aviv to offer free wi-fi to tourists
The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, in conjunction with Tel Aviv Global & Tourism Administration, has completed the installation of 60 wi-fi hotspots around the city, with another 20 access points to be installed in the near future. Locations include the beach, entertainment centres, parks and tourist attractions.
