Hilton Garden begins MEA roll-out
Hilton is marking its entry into the Middle East and Africa mid-market sector with the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Hilton Garden Inn says it has made its foray into the Middle East in reaction to the growth in the meetings sector. The brand, which has more than 450 hotels across the US, Europe and Central America, predominantly targets the fast-growing business tourism segment.

Hilton Marjan Split expected to open end of 2009
Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced it has entered into a Franchise Licence Agreement with Adriatic d.d. to open a new Hilton branded property in the Croatian city of Split.Scheduled to open towards the end of 2009, the full service hotel will become the company’s second property in Croatia, joining the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, which opened in 2005.
Hilton suspends development of Denizen pending legal probe
Hilton is temporarily suspending the development of its new lifestyle brand Denizen Hotels, following legal action by rival Starwood claiming corporate espionage and theft of confidential information.The Denizen team is led by Amar Lalvani and Ross Klein, former Starwood employees who were instrumental in developing its W lifestyle brand, and are named as co-defendants in the lawsuit.
