The GTMC, the UK’s leading professional industry body representing travel management companies, has published its second quarterly 2012 transaction survey. Despite reports to the contrary the survey revealed that business travel is holding up relatively well, with figures ahead of last year in a quarter that had five bank holidays.

Search engine giant Google’s Scott Field is to be one of the keynote speakers at this year’s GTMC Overseas Conference being held in Doha (11 -13 May 2012). Hotels surprise winner in GTMC first quarter transaction survey
Figures just in, relating to the first quarter of 2011, saw transactions increase by 10% against the same period last year, with air travel growing by 9%, rail also by 9% and car hire doing well with a 10% increase. Hotels meanwhile showed a very healthy 15% increase in transactions over the same quarter last year.
