New GTMC partner BSP provider Accelya

THE GUILD OF Travel Management Companies (GTMC), the UK’s leading professional industry body representing travel management companies, has announced that Accelya, the global leader in travel agency and airline business process outsourcing, has become a GTMC partner.  Perhaps best known for handling BSP data on behalf of IATA, Accelya processes 67% of all global reconciliation between travel agents and airlines.  The company has more than 600 employees worldwide and 70,000 business entities connecting daily to its international solutions.

GTMC chairman, Portman Travel’s Michael Hare said: “Everyone in the airline industry is familiar with the BSP Link system and it is rewarding that the company behind this system, Accelya, has turned to the GTMC to raise awareness of it’s complete portfolio of services which are extensive.”

Accelya’s regional sales director Sarah Crowley said:  “We joined the GTMC to build relationships with the UK’s most successful travel management companies’ decision makers.  It is through these relationships that we hope to achieve a clear understanding of the TMCs current and future needs with regard to management information and the harnessing of it to drive more successful negotiations. This membership represents excellent value for Accelya, not only for the exposure to top management but also for the thought leadership that comes out of the group as a whole. It puts Accelya’s finger on the pulse of the latest developments and challenges within the business travel sector.  We look forward to actively participating in this diverse and effective organisation”

GTMC Partners are drawn from a diverse range of suppliers including airlines, hotel companies, rail and car rental companies, technology companies and a number of ancillary service providers. Networking with some of the most senior representatives of the UK business travel community, at GTMC events, is seen as a major benefit.
