The Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) has unveiled a string of high profile senior industry speakers for its annual overseas conference, taking place in Abu Dhabi 13th – 15th May 2011.
GTMC launch business travel manifesto
The Guild of Travel Management Companies launched its first ever Business Travel Manifesto yesterday (January 26). The manifesto – compiled from a survey of 1,250 business travellers – calls on the Government to tackle a number of transport-related initiatives including creating a high-speed rail network.
GTMC in ‘biggest ever’ recruitment drive
The Guild of Travel Management Companies is looking to almost double its membership in a bid to be more representative of the business travel sector. The UK’s leading association for TMCs – whose 30 members currently manage around 80% of business travel spend in the UK – want to represent as much as 95% of total business travel spend.
‘Business travel through the worst’
September saw the first signs of an upturn in business travel, according to the head of the UK’s leading association of business travel agents. It’s too early to say that the recession is over but we may be through the worst of it, Maurice Veronique, chairman of the Guild of Travel Management Companies said.
GTMC appoints new head
The UK’s leading business travel association has appointed a new chief executive. The Guild of Travel Management Companies, whose members account for 80% of all business travel bookings in the UK, has appointed Anne Godfrey, a director at the Law Society, as its head. Ms Godfrey will take up the position on 1 October and work alongside outgoing chief executive Philip Carlisle until the end of the year when he retires after 13 years in the role.
