Profits rise at low-cost carrier flydubai
flydubai has today reported a profit of AED31.6 million (US$ 8.6 million for financial 2016. The low-cost carrier reported total revenue of AED5 billion (US$ 1.37 billion) an increase of 2.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.
flydubai launches OPEN rewards programme

Dubai World Central sees near doubling of passenger traffic
Passenger traffic at Dubai’s second airport, Dubai World Central continued the upward trend in the first half of the year surging more than 95 per cent, according to the traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. Passenger traffic for the first six months of the year totalled 410,278, up 95.4 per cent compared to 209,989 passengers recorded during the corresponding period in 2015.

A Boeing 737-800 passenger jet operated by the low-cost carrier, flydubai, has crashed in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, killing all 55 passengers and seven crew on board.

Dubai International welcomes 6.7m passengers in July
Dubai Airports has announced that 6.68 million passengers passed through Dubai International in July -up 29.6 per cent from the same month last year when traffic numbers were affected by a runway refurbishment programme. Passenger numbers in July totalled to 6,682,676 compared to the 5,155,771 handled in July 2014 when the airport was reduced to one runway while a $1bn refurbishment programme was conducted over an 80 day span.
