Dubai-based flydubai has announced that it will begin daily operations to Prague from July 1st, up from four weekly flights, reports Phil Blizzard. Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief executive of flydubai, told Breaking Travel News: “We are delighted to offer more flights to Prague which remains a popular destination for our passengers in the GCC.”

Dubai-based flydubai has become the latest airline from the Middle East and North Africa to join the International Air Transport Association, reports Phil Blizzard from Dubai.

flydubai’s inaugural flight has arrived in the capital city of Eritrea, Asmara. Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai chief executive Officer said: “The addition of Asmara to our network reflects our commitment to enhancing air connectivity to Dubai which includes 67 points that did not previously have direct air links to Dubai or were underserved.”

Dubai Airports has announced that 6.68 million passengers passed through Dubai International in July -up 29.6 per cent from the same month last year when traffic numbers were affected by a runway refurbishment programme. Passenger numbers in July totalled to 6,682,676 compared to the 5,155,771 handled in July 2014 when the airport was reduced to one runway while a $1bn refurbishment programme was conducted over an 80 day span.

Dubai-based flydubai has announced that it is increasing the frequency of flights on some of its routes in Africa for the summer schedule. With the additional flights, flydubai will operate a total of 78 flights a week to 12 points in East and North Africa.

The busiest weekend in the history of one of the world’s busiest international airports – Dubai International – was managed without a glitch following days of planning and preparation by operator Dubai Airports, partners and government authorities. The three terminals at Dubai International welcomed a total of 638,317 passengers from Thursday December 18th through Saturday December 20th.
