Lufthansa and Germanwings to fly to 235 destinations this summer
Four new Lufthansa destinations – more than three quarters of European routes excluding Frankfurt and Munich transferred to Germanwings
Germanwings to operate four new routes in the summer
Germanwings continues to grow this summer with the addition of four new routes from the capital. From July 4th 2014, the German airline will be flying from Berlin/Tegel to Barcelona and Zagreb and on August 31st Germanwings will launch new connections to Moscow (Vnukovo) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).
Germanwings opens two new routes to London Heathrow
This week sees the first flights from Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg to Europe’s largest airport, London Heathrow. Germanwings is now offering two new connections from Germany to Europe’s largest airport. For the first time on Monday morning, the Germanwings jets took off from Berlin-Tegel and Hamburg, destined for London’s London Heathrow.
Germanwings one of the most punctual European airlines in the World
In December of last year, Germanwings was named one of the most punctual airlines in the world: according to the recently published statistics from the American online service Flight Stats, which evaluates all scheduled flights worldwide.
The “new Germanwings” is landing in the summer of 2014 in Dusseldorf
This coming summer, Germanwings will become one of the largest airlines at Dusseldorf Airport. With the 2014 summer timetable beginning on 30th March, the airline will take over a range of routes from its parent company, Lufthansa, as well as adding new routes. This means there are a total of 31 destinations that will be newly bookable with Germanwings from Thursday 10th October 2013.
Germanwings set to roll out new fleet
The first ‘new Germanwings’ Airbus A319 has been unveiled bearing Germanwings’s new typeface and on its tail the new logo – a stylised W in dark purple and yellow, making the ‘wings’ in Germanwings a swish new motif. The new design embodies Germanwings’ steadily growing position as a quality carrier amongst low cost airlines.
Germanwings simplifies luggage conditions
Germanwings will be more generous with luggage allowances: as of now, the discount airline is raising the maximum weight for first luggage items from 20 to 23 kilograms. In “Best” and “Flex” tariffs, one suitcase will even be free of charge.
Germanwings expands UK route network
Low cost carrier Germanwings has announced the launch of its new route between Stuttgart and Manchester from this Sunday, 15 July 2012. The carrier will offer five services a week from Manchester to Stuttgart.
Germanwings collaborates with Brussels Airlines
Germanwings and Brussels Airlines have announced closer collaboration having signed an interlining agreement, effective immediately. The agreement enables Brussels Airlines to offer passengers new Germanwings connections between Stuttgart and Brussels, allowing access to their complete range of flights via Brussels airport.
Germanwings signs new airline distribution agreement
Low-cost airline group Germanwings has announced a new long-term airline distribution agreement with Sabre. The agreement provides Sabre travel agencies and corporations in Germany and around the world with access to Germanwings’ fares, schedules and availability.
Germanwings flight schedule for winter 2012

Germanwings is launching its new summer flight plan for 2012 this Sunday with several new destinations. The company is planning many maiden flights in the coming days, especially in both of its largest bases: Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart.
