Ethiopian Airlines to launch Moroni, Comoros, route in October
Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it has finalised preparations to launch flights to Moroni, Comoros, on October 30th. The carrier will use the latest B737-800 New Generation with Sky Interior on the route. Moroni is the largest city, the federal capital and seat of the government of the Union of the Comoros, a sovereign archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean.
Ethiopian Airlines to launch new Durban flights
Ethiopian Airlines will launch a three times weekly flight between Addis Ababa and Durban on December 16th. The launch will be airline’s third destination in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Cape Town. Durban is the second largest metropolitan city and the second most important manufacturing hub in South Africa.

Ethiopia Airlines secures ING Capital investment
Ethiopian Airlines, the largest and most profitable airline in Africa, has secured a UD$41.4 million seven-year junior loan facility from ING Capital LLC for the acquisition of two Boeing 777 freighter aircraft. The senior debt is supported by Ex-Im Bank and was provided by another financial institution with ING as their co-arranger.
Ethiopian Airlines to connect Dublin to Los Angeles with new route
Ethiopian Airlines has finalised preparations to commence flights to Dublin and Los Angeles starting from June 2015. Ethiopian flights to Dublin and Los Angeles will be operated three times a week with the ultra-modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which offers unparalleled on-board comfort to passengers. The flights will be the only direct service connecting Africa with Ireland and the West Coast of the United States.
Ethiopian Airlines orders 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft
Boeing and Ethiopian Airlines have announced an order for 20 737 MAX 8s. The order, previously unidentified on the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website, is worth more than $2.1 billion at list prices and also includes options and purchase rights for a further 15 737 MAX 8s. The order represents the largest single Boeing order by number of airplanes from an African carrier.
