Emirates has announced that it will commence a daily Airbus A380 service from Dubai to Mauritius from December 16th 2013. The aircraft will operate as flight EK 701 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and EK 3701 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing from Dubai International Airport at 03:10 and arriving in Mauritius at 09:40.

Emirates is marking 20 years of service to Muscat today, having carried nearly 2.4 million passengers on the route since flights began on 1st July 1993. Amongst the first to offer his congratulations was Finance Manager Sadiq Khaliq, Emirates’ longest serving Omani member of staff who joined dnata’s Finance department in 1969 before moving to Emirates when the airline was formed 16 years later. 

Nabil Sultan, whose career spans more than 20 years in commercial roles within Emirates, has been appointed the new divisional senior vice president, Cargo. Nabil takes over from Ram Menen, who retired from Emirates earlier this month.

Travelport and Emirates have launched Emirates’ Inspire Me travel application on the Emirates website which aims to help users narrow down the ideal destination and desired travel experience via new search capabilities.

Last week new global airline partners Emirates and Qantas launched the first in a series of nationwide roadshows aimed at UK travel trade partners.  The first show commenced in London on Tuesday 04 June with further shows taking place in Glasgow, Newscastle, Manchester and Birmingham over the next week.

In a world first Emirates, has announced plans to open an indoor aviation themed attraction in London this July. London’s newest public attraction, the Emirates Aviation Experience, will be the first of its kind globally.
