Emirates launches UK credit card

Emirates has announced a significant enhancement to its service offering with the launch of its first UK co-branded credit cards from Emirates Skywards.

Cards will allow customers to increase Skywards Miles earning, making reward travel on Emirates faster, easier and bringing together friends and families from around the world.

The ‘Emirates Skywards Credit Card Account’ and ‘Emirates Skywards Elite Credit Card Account’ allow customers the choice between a standard no annual fee card and an Elite version with £150 annual fee, with representative 17.9% APR and representative 18.9% APR respectively on card purchases.

Both accounts come with two credit cards, one American Express card and one Visa card, and enable eligible new customers to boost the earning power of their spending by building Skywards Miles.

The accounts also come with a higher earning rate on purchases from Emirates, ten per cent off holidays booked through Emirates Tours as well as bonus Miles for purchases during the first 90 days.

Holders of the Elite card are entitled to additional benefits - ranging from a complimentary companion reward, to discounts on flight and Miles purchases, and more.

“We are always looking for exciting ways to add value and further improve our products, and we are confident that we are offering our passengers something special; up to four Miles for every £1 spent on Emirates purchases, attractive bonus Miles, ten per cent off holidays booked through Emirates Tours UK, discounts on Miles purchases and a companion reward with our Elite card.

“These compelling benefits will provide exceptional value for our frequent flyers,” said Brian LaBelle, Emirates Skywards senior vice president.

“Furthermore, with the Emirates Skywards advantage of being able earn rewards not only for themselves but also to share rewards with their friends and family, we know our new cards will be highly encouraging to Emirates Skywards Members residing in the UK; bringing everyone closer together.”
