Solution sought for Dubai immigration delays
Emirates president Tim Clark has described long hold-ups at immigration at Dubai International Airport as regrettable and said the delays “were a matter of high priority which we would hope to solve within weeks”. Speaking in Dubai at the recent press conference to welcome the Emirates-Qantas partnership, Clark said that the delays were “a victim of the airline’s (Emirates) success”.
Emirates set to launch first transatlantic flight
Connecting mainland Europe with North America, Emirates will launch a direct service between Milan and New York, the airline’s only trans-Atlantic service, from October 1st 2013. Linking Italy directly with America, the new route will provide an important connection between Continental Europe and the US, allowing Emirates to capitalise on the significant traffic flow between these cities and giving both leisure and business travellers more choice and added convenience.
Emirates takes over Newcastle Tyne and Wear Metro

Emirates A380 touches down in Barcelona for the first time
Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, was welcomed by Barcelona – El Prat Airport today as the airline brought its popular A380 aircraft for a one-off service. This is the first ever scheduled service of an Emirates A380 to Spain. The A380 service will also operate on 1 March 2013.
Emirates unveils new campaign to connect travellers
Emirates has unveiled a new campaign showcasing the lighter side of language. Named “Share a Smile” the airline has created 29 videos in 14 languages featuring members of its cabin crew expressing quirky and unusual expressions and greetings from around the world.
Emirates announces second destination in the Philippines
Emirates announced that from 1st October 2013 it will begin daily, non-stop flights to Clark International Airport, the airline’s second destination in the Philippines. The new service will be operated by a two-class Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates gears up for Algiers route launch
Emirates is preparing for the launch of its new route to Algiers from 1st March by offering fares from AED 2,180. Algiers will become the airline’s 22nd destination in Africa after the launch of Lusaka and Harare last year.
Emirates adds daily service to South Australia
Emirates has further bolstered its commitment to South Australia with the introduction of three extra flights a week, ensuring a non-stop, daily service between Dubai and Adelaide. The new service will see an additional 1,062 seats operate in and out of the state per week, carrying an expected 200,000 passengers on the route each year.
