Emirates boosts services to Egypt
Emirates is launching three new weekly flights between Dubai and Cairo, commencing on 1st January 2016. The new service will supplement the current twice daily Boeing 777-300ER flights, taking the total number of flights serving Cairo to 17 each week.
Emirates adds flight to Riyadh
Emirates will boost its services to Riyadh with the addition of a third daily flight to the Saudi capital from 15 December 2015. The addition of the third daily service will take the total number of weekly Emirates flights serving Riyadh to 21.
Emirates brings A380 service to Copenhagen, Denmark
Emirates has expanded its network of destinations served by the highly-popular A380 aircraft with the launch of the first A380 service to Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is Emirates’ 36th destination to boast a scheduled A380 service.
Emirates launches Arabic mobile website
Emirates has launched an Arabic version of its popular mobile site, allowing customers in the Middle East and North Africa to book flights, check-in online, change or upgrade their flights and receive their boarding pass. It will also allow them to download Apple Passbook boarding passes to their smartphone. The Arabic mobile platform has been rolled out simultaneously across 15 countries in the Middle East and North Africa including the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Sudan, among others.
Malaysia Airlines signs codeshare deal with Emirates
Malaysia Airlines and Emirates have announced a new partnership that will give their customers a seamless international network connecting Malaysia to more than 90 destinations on the Emirates network. The deal covers destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas, exclusive frequent flyer benefits and world-class travel experiences.
Emirates increases flights to Jeddah
Emirates has added four flights per week to Jeddah, starting from 14th December 2015. The increased frequency will now enable Emirates’ customers travelling to and from Jeddah to choose from three flights per day. All three daily flights will be operated by a three-class A380 in response to consistently high customer demand in the market.
Emirates boosts Istanbul services with latest departure
Emirates has announced its plans for a second gateway in Istanbul with the launch of a daily service to Sabiha Gokcen Airport, beginning December 15th, 2015. The new service complements Emirates’ existing 11 weekly flights to Ataturk Airport, offering even more convenience for both inbound and outbound travellers.
Emirates signs US$16bn OnPoint deal with GE Aviation
Emirates has signed a US$16 billion OnPoint solution agreement with GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the GE9X engines that will power the airline’s fleet of 150 Boeing 777X aircraft over a period of 12 years. This is Emirates’ largest engine MRO contract to date. At the 2013 Dubai Air Show, Emirates placed a record US$76 billion order for 150 Boeing 777X twin-engine aircraft, powered by GE’s new GE9X engine.
Emirates reports record financial figures
The Emirates Group has announced its half-year results for 2015-16, showing continued business growth and a strong performance. Group revenue reached AED 46.1 billion (US$ 12.6 billion) for the first six months of its 2015-16 financial year, down 2.3 per cent from AED 47.2 billion (US$ 12.9 billion) during the same period last year, reflecting the impact of the strong US dollar against major currencies.
Emirates signs codeshare with Alaska Airlines
Emirates has announced a new codeshare and lounge agreement with Alaska Airlines. Pending governmental approval, Emirates will begin marketing up to 300 daily Alaska Airlines flights, which will give customers the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines using one reservation, and a seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage check experience during the entire journey.
fastjet launches codeshare deal with Emirates
fastjet, Africa’s low-cost airline, has signed a sales and distribution contract with Emirates, the world’s largest airline by international traffic, that allows Emirates’ passengers access to fastjet’s growing route network across east and southern Africa. Emirates passengers will be able to book fastjet tickets on all of Emirates’ sales channels using a bespoke link between Emirates and fastjet’s reservations system.
