New appointment for Emirates
The Emirates Group has appointed a UAE National to a strategic HR position in North America. Wasan Al Husseiny became Manager Human Resources for the US and Canada markets earlier this month, overseeing the group’s HR operations in the region.
Emirates launches all A380 service on London route
Emirates’ eight daily flights to London will all be served by the highly popular A380s from January 1st 2016, cementing the airline’s status as the largest international A380 operator into the British capital. Combined with the airline’s double daily A380 services to Manchester, Emirates will offer 70 A380 flights per week into the UK, more than any other country on the Emirates network.
Emirates signs codeshare deal with Bangkok Airways
Emirates has signed a new codeshare agreement with Thailand-based Bangkok Airways, a regional boutique airline, which is set to open up new destinations for Bangkok Airways and Emirates passengers from Europe, Australasia and South-East Asia regions. The new agreement will see Emirates’ code added to 19 Bangkok Airways routes across a number of south-east Asian cities, adding a total of 14 new destinations to the Emirates global network.
Emirates launches Americas Pass to transatlantic passengers
Emirates passengers looking to explore beyond the airline’s network of American destinations now have dozens of options with the Americas Pass. With one combined ticket, travellers flying to any of Emirates’ ten US destinations can connect to over 90 cities across the USA, Canada and Latin America through Emirates’ five partner airlines: Jet Blue, Alaska Airlines, Virgin America, WestJet Airlines and Porter Airlines.
Emirates adds third daily flight to Birmingham, UK
Emirates has launched its third daily service to Birmingham, with Flight EK41 from Dubai arriving at Birmingham International Airport at 07:05. On board the inaugural flight of this service were passengers originating from more than 15 different cities to Birmingham, including Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, demonstrating Emirates’ global connectivity.
Emirates launches second daily service to Lisbon
Emirates will start operating a second daily service to Lisbon, Portugal from 1st January 2016. The second daily wide-bodied flight will offer passengers the highest standards of passenger comfort, with luxurious private suites in First Class, lie-flat beds in Business Class and generously-sized Economy Class seats.
Emirates adds latest A380 on Dubai-Bangkok route
Emirates will add its fourth daily A380 service between Dubai and Bangkok with the up-gauge of its current services from December 1st. The new two-class A380 service will operate daily as flight EK376 from Dubai to Bangkok and EK377 from Bangkok to Dubai. The up-gauge from its current Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will see an increase in capacity of 255 seats per flight and 3,570 seats per week to and from the Thai capital city.
Emirates waves goodbye to final Boeing 777-200
Emirates has ceased operation of A6-EMF, the last remaining Boeing 777-200 from its fleet. The aircraft departed from Dubai International to Arizona via Boston for de-registration earlier. Since joining the Emirates fleet in 1996, A6-EMF flew an estimated 60 million kilometres (enough to fly to the moon and back nearly 80 times) and transported hundreds of thousands of passengers to destinations as far and wide as Warsaw and Ho Chi Minh City.
Emirates brings vintage Dom Pérignon to first class
Customers travelling on Emirates’ First Class can now look forward to the introduction of the recently released Dom Pérignon Vintage 2005, and the Dom Pérignon Vintage Rosé 2003, across different routes. The largest global partner of Dom Pérignon, Emirates has also introduced a pairing menu developed by its team of culinary experts in collaboration with Pascal Tingaud, chef de cuisine at Dom Pérignon and two-Michelin star chef.
Emirates launches service to Mashad, Iran
Emirates will launch a new service to Mashhad, Iran from September 1st 2015, marking its second gateway into the country. The UAE-carrier will operate to Mashhad with five weekly services utilising an Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Emirates’ sheikh Majid Al Mualla said: “Mashhad’s addition to our global network will enable us to provide flexibility and choice for customers creating new inbound and outbound markets for tourism.”
Emirates to add Bamako, Mali, to global network
Emirates will connect Bamako, the capital and largest city of Mali, to its global network from October 25th 2015. Bamako is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with a population of about 2.3 million people, and is located in the south western part of Mali on the Niger River. Once services commence, it will become Emirates’ 28th destination in Africa and sixth in West Africa, further strengthening the region’s connectivity with the world through the airline’s global network of more than 140 destinations across six continents.
Emirates launches Arsenal FC branded plane
Emirates, official partner of Arsenal Football Club, has unveiled its first plane to feature the club’s branding as the team fly out for the start of the summer tour to Singapore this week. The Gunners arrived in style on an Emirates B777-200LR chartered aircraft that has been specially designed for their Arsenal Singapore 2015 visit.
