Emirates adds non-stop service to Auckland, New Zealand
Emirates will start its first non-stop service from Dubai to Auckland on March 1st, bringing many of its 38 European destinations and cities within just one-stop range of New Zealand through direct connections in Dubai. The new service will be in addition to the award-winning airline’s existing flights, meaning that Emirates will then have five services daily into New Zealand – three A380 double-decker services to Auckland via Australia, a daily Christchurch service with a Boeing 777-300ER, and the new non-stop service operated with a Boeing 777-200LR.
Emirates maintains top brand position in global aviation
Emirates has come out on top again as the world’s most valuable airline brand, according to the 2016 Brand Finance Global 500 report, which was released. The airline’s brand value grew 17 per cent over last year to reach US$ 7.7 billion. For the fifth year running, the airline has steadily risen up in the global ranking of the world’s top brands to be placed at #171, 47 places above the next closest airline brand.
Emirates adds daily service to Colombo, Sri Lanka
Emirates has reaffirmed its commitment to Sri Lanka by introducing an additional daily service between Dubai and Colombo. Effective August 1st, the airline will operate five daily flights between Dubai and Colombo every day except Wednesdays when it will operate four flights.
Emirates to bring A380 to Washington D.C as United withdraws
Emirates has announced that it plans to upgrade its Dubai-Washington D.C. service, with the introduction of its flagship Airbus A380 on the route beginning February 1st. Replacing the existing Boeing 777-300ER used on this route, the A380 will serve the strong customer demand and restore route capacity following United Airlines’ planned withdrawal from the Washington route after January 25th.
Emirates to commence second daily A380 service to Perth
Emirates will commence a second daily A380 service from Dubai to Perth on 1st August this year, replacing the current 777-300ER aircraft operating on EK424/EK425.

Malaysia Airlines will codeshare on Emirates’s four times daily service to Dubai from Kuala Lumpur from February 15th, 2016 as part of the partnership between Malaysia Airlines and Emirates which was signed early December 2015.
Emirates boosts capacity to Athens
Emirates is planning to boost capacity to Athens with the addition of a second daily flight to the Greek capital from 1 March 2016. The addition of a second daily service will take the total weekly Emirates flights serving Athens to 14.
Emirates adds second daily service to Geneva
Emirates is expanding its operation in Switzerland with the addition of a second daily service to Geneva effective 1st June 2016. The second daily flight will double capacity on the route and represents an overall increase of 26% for Emirates in Switzerland.
Emirates boosts frequency on Los Angeles departure
Emirates has announced it plans to launch a second daily service from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday July 1st, 2016. The second Los Angeles flight will be operated with an Emirates’ Airbus A380-800ULR aircraft in a three-class configuration with 14 private suites in First class, 76 seats in Business class and 401 seats in Economy class.

Emirates has announced that it will be upgrading its EK39/40 service between Dubai and Birmingham to an Airbus A380 from March 27th, 2016. This will be the first time the iconic and much loved A380 will fly from the region, and comes as Emirates celebrates its 15th anniversary at Birmingham Airport.
