Emirates and Malaysia Airlines expand codeshare deal
Emirates and Malaysia Airlines have unveil new routes and frequent flyer benefits as part of their codeshare agreement to provide customers seamless connections and world class travel experiences, across the globe. The new routes cover 15 key Malaysian cities: Langkawi, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Labuan, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Kuantan and Kuala Terengganu.
Emirates adds tenth London service
Emirates is planning to boost capacity to London with the addition of a tenth daily flight to the British capital starting 1st October 2016. The new service, Emirates’ fourth daily flight to London Gatwick, will complement its six daily services to Heathrow and take the airline’s total weekly services to the city to 70.
Emirates to open check-in 48 hours ahead of take off
Emirates has extended its online check-in to 48 hours before departure, from 24 hours, effective immediately. Customers around the world can check in online on both desktop and mobile devices from 48 hours to 90 minutes before flight departure.
Emirates brings A380 service to Birmingham, UK
Emirates has launched an Airbus A380 service to Birmingham Airport. The airline’s inaugural flight on its new daily A380 service from Dubai touched down at 12:20. This is the first time that the double-decker aircraft will operate a regular service from the airport, with the A380 replacing the Boeing 777 on the daily EK39/40 service.
Emirates brings A380 to Vienna
Emirates will operate one of its two scheduled daily flights into Vienna International Airport with its A380 aircraft. The airline will fly its three-class A380 with 519 seats on one of its daily services to Vienna and retain its second daily Boeing 777-300ER service with a seating capacity of 360.
ITB Berlin 2016: Emirates Airline reveals new Boeing 777 business seat
Emirates has unveiled its new Business Class seat for its Boeing 777 aircraft at ITB Berlin, the international travel trade show. The new seat will make its commercial debut on Emirates’ 170th Boeing 777 aircraft, a -300ER version which the airline expects to receive in November 2016.
Emirates enhances connectivity to Russia with S7 deal
Emirates and Russian carrier S7 Airlines have enhanced their partnership which is set to improve connectivity and benefits for customers across Russia. Emirates and S7 Airlines have been in an interline partnership since 2003 which was further enhanced in 2008. The new codeshare deal further builds on this strong partnership and sees the Emirates code added to more than 30 routes operated by S7 Airlines across Russia as well as on S7’s twice weekly service between Dubai to Novosibirsk.
Emirates launches direct Dubai-Auckland services
Emirates has launched its first non-stop service between Dubai and Auckland, one of the world’s longest scheduled flights, bringing 39 European destinations and another 38 in Africa and the Middle East within just one stop of New Zealand. And to celebrate the milestone, the first service was operated with a double-decker A380 rather than the Boeing 777-200LR that will regularly fly the route.
Emirates adds services to Yangon and Hanoi
Emirates will launch a daily service from Dubai to Yangon in Myanmar and Hanoi in Vietnam, starting August 3, 2016. Utilising a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, this new route will strengthen Emirates’ network of destinations in Southeast Asia.
