Goodbye to all that: easyJet closes Madrid base
easyJet has announced that after a thorough review of its Madrid operations it proposes to cease basing crew and aircraft at Madrid from Winter 2012/13. The British low-cost airline intends to continue to serve Spain but to do so differently by moving its aircraft to other easyJet bases around its European network which will deliver higher returns.
easyJet adds extra flights on Belfast routes
easyJet, Northern Ireland’s largest airline, is to introduce extra flights from Belfast International Airport on routes including Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

easyJet has revealed it is the official European travel partner for the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2012 for the second year. easyJet expands travel tech options
Low-cost airline easyJet has extended its relationship with Sabre Travel Network to distribute its fares and services to travel agencies. The agreement has been expanded to provide further distribution to Sabre-connected travel agencies with access to easyJet fares through the global distribution system (GDS).
easyJet announces lower half year losses
easyJet has reported it reduced its losses for the first half of 2012 by £41 million to £112 million despite an £87 million increase in its unit fuel costs.

easyJet launches two new routes
easyJet has launched two new routes to the Spanish cities of Palma and Malaga from London Southend Airport. The daily flight to Malaga will depart from easyJet’s Essex base with fares starting from £24.99. Flights to Palma from London Southend Airport will be available four times a week from £26.99.
easyJet launches Kefalonia flights
easyJet has announced its new route from London Gatwick to Kefalonia with fares from £48.99. The thrice weekly service brings the total number of easyJet’s flights to Greece to eleven (with Athens, Corfu, Crete Chania and Heraklion, Kefalonia, Kos, Thessaloniki, Satorini, Rhodes, Mykonos and Zante) further extending the airline’s network to the West coast of Greece.
easyJet expands agreement with Travelport
UK-based easyJet has signed a new agreement with Travelport that will further open up easyJet booking services to be sold by all Galileo-connected agency customers worldwide and any other agency using the Travelport Universal API. In addition, the new agreement will also deliver enhanced functionality to improve the booking process for agents, including the sale of easyJet ancillary services.
easyJet welcomes opening of Lisbon base
easyJet has continued to turn Europe orange with the opening of its 23rd network base, in Lisbon. During an official ceremony easyJet chief executive Carolyn McCall inaugurated the Lisbon base in the presence of the minister of economy Alvaro Santos Pereira.

easyJet, Northern Ireland’s largest airline, has today announced a new route from Belfast International Airport to Birmingham Airport. The new route will increase easyJet destinations from Belfast International to 23 – equalling the highest number of routes the airline has operated from the airport.
