easyJet launches Kefalonia flights

easyJet has announced its new route from London Gatwick to Kefalonia with fares from £48.99. The thrice weekly service brings the total number of easyJet’s flights to Greece to eleven (with Athens, Corfu, Crete Chania and Heraklion, Kefalonia, Kos, Thessaloniki, Satorini, Rhodes, Mykonos and Zante) further extending the airline’s network to the West coast of Greece.

easyJet’s inaugural flight to the island took off on 28 April and the airline expects this Summer schedule to Kefalonia to provide more than 15,000 visitors with an easy and affordable option to reach the picturesque home of the Mount Aenos National Park.

Paul Simmons, easyJet’s UK Director, commented: “We’re thrilled to have launched our new service from London Gatwick to Kefalonia. With a strong start on bookings to date, we’re confident that it will be an extremely popular route with our customers from the UK and Greece alike.  We carry 1 million passengers between Greece and the UK every year, so this additional route will provide them with even further choice.”

Just one hour from Athens, and with both Zante and Corfu also nearby, Kefalonia is the ideal destination for island hoppers as well as those who simply wish to revel in the unspoilt surroundings, beautiful beaches and historic treasures of Kefalonia.
