easyJet has launched a new partnership offering customers tours and excursions alongside its low air fares. In partnership with Get Your Guide, easyJet will offer customers more than 16,000 activities across Europe including destination tours and excursions via a dedicated site.

easyJet sees profits fall in challenging environment
Low-cost airline easyJet has seen pre-tax profits fall 27.9 per cent to £495 million in the year to September 30th. However, the figure was in line with a warning given last month, seeing FTSE listed shares in the carrier rise nearly three per cent in early trading.

easyJet has started two new services from Newcastle International Airport to Berlin Schoenefeld Airport and Las Palmas Airport in Gran Canaria. The two new routes are expected to carry more than 36,000 passengers in the first year. The airline’s new route to Berlin Schoenefeld is the only direct scheduled flight between Newcastle and the German city, opening both up to more tourism and making connecting between the two easier than ever.

easyJet has appointed Peter Duffy to the role of chief commercial officer, bringing together all the airline’s revenue generation under one person. The role includes Duffy’s previous areas of responsibility which include marketing, customer strategy and digital activity.
