More than 5.5 million tourists visited Dubai in the first half of 2013, representing an 11.1 per cent year-on-year increase, indicating that Dubai is on the way to achieving its Tourism Vision for 2020. The first half visitor number results, released by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) today, show increases across all key indicators, including hotel establishment guests, hotel and hotel apartment revenues, room occupancy and average length of stay.

Dubai International’s passenger traffic hit 32.6 million in the first half of this year, making it the busiest six months in the airport’s record-studded history, according to the traffic report issued today by airport operator Dubai Airports. According to the report, Dubai International handled a total of 5,537,908 passengers in June, a robust growth of 17.5 per cent from the 4,714,746 who passed through the airport in June 2012.

Under the supervision of Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, the new building will implement several green initiatives that will reduce the environmental impact of the new facility.

Malaysia Airlines will be adding Dubai back to its network effective 5 August 2013. The Kuala Lumpur-Dubai return service will be mounted daily via MH162 and MH163 using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft that offers a total capacity of 282 seats in each flight, equivalent to 3,948 seats weekly.

Dubai International has racked up another month of double-digit growth with 18.9 per cent increase in passenger numbers recorded in May, according to a traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. Passenger traffic in May reached 5,218,832, an increase of 18.9 per cent compared to 4,388,614 during the corresponding month in 2012.

Dubai International has registered nine straight months of double-digit growth according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports earlier. The world’s second busiest airport for international passenger traffic, Dubai International recorded 5,418,946 passengers in April, an increase of 18.7 per cent compared to 4,566,673 during the corresponding month in 2012.
