Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Majid Al Futtaim Properties have celebrated the opening of Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates Hotel. With this opening, Starwood now operates 14 hotels in Dubai, representing the highest concentration of Starwood hotels in any individual city outside of New York.

Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing had a successful participation at the International Tourism Fair ITB-2013 in Berlin, which concluded its works on Sunday (10 March 2013). Some 123 participants from the tourism sector in Dubai took part in the fair alongside the general directorate of residency and foreigners affairs-Dubai, Expo2020, and Dubai Events and promotions Establishment (DEPE).

Visitor numbers to Dubai increased by 9.3% in 2012, with the city welcoming more than 10 million visitors over a one year period for the first time in its history. The results were announced by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

The Dubai Department of Tourism & Commence Marketing has announced that over the past 12 months, the destination has seen an overall increase of 6.6 per cent in its UK visitor figures. The total number of UK visitors at the close of 2012 rose from 643,195 in 2011 to 685,629.
