Arabian Travel Market 2017: Traffic boom at Dubai World Central
Passenger traffic at Dubai World Central, the emirate’s second international hub, grew an impressive 29.5 per cent during the first quarter of 2017. Some 333,780 passengers passed through the facility during the period, compared to 257,813 in the same period in 2016 according to Dubai Airports, which also released its 2017 forecast for DWC passenger numbers.

The United Arab Emirates has succeeded in boosting the length of time that travellers stay in the country using longer layovers and connections between Europe and America with Asian destinations. The fastest growing group is now those staying between six to eight nights, according to ForwardKeys which predicts future travel patterns by analysing 16 million booking transactions a day.
Dubai International sees passenger growth continue in February
Passenger traffic at Dubai International continued to grow steadily in February rising 8.8 per cent to 6,948,157, according to the monthly traffic report issued by Dubai Airports. The operator said this brings the total year to date passenger traffic at DXB to 14,985,165, a robust growth of 9.3 per cent compared to 13,711,181 recorded during the first two months of 2016.
