A fire has broken out in at The Address hotel in central Dubai, close the Burj Khalifa. The the Burj Khalifa is host to the annual fireworks display in Dubai - considered one of the largest in the world.

Passenger traffic continues to rise at Dubai International
Passenger traffic at Dubai International, rose 4.4 per cent in October, according to a traffic report issued today by operator Dubai Airports. Passenger numbers in October totalled 6,250,810, compared to 5,989,007 recorded in October of last year.

Cargo traffic spikes at Dubai World Central
Air freight traffic at Dubai World Central rose 15.9 per cent during first nine months of the year according to a report issued by operator Dubai Airports. The year to date cargo as at the end of September reached 662,143 tonnes, up 15.9 per cent from 571,001 tonnes recorded during the first nine months of 2014. Year on year cargo volumes increased despite a dip in volumes during the third quarter when DWC handled 219,131 tonnes of freight, down 15.6 per cent from 259,636 tonnes recorded during same quarter in 2014.
Dubai International records highest ever monthly traffic
Dubai International registered the highest monthly traffic in its 55-year history with 7.2 million passengers in August. According to the latest traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports today, traffic at the world’s number one hub for international passengers reached 7,282,256, up 9.5 per cent from 6,648,058 recorded during the same month in 2014.

Dubai International welcomes 6.7m passengers in July
Dubai Airports has announced that 6.68 million passengers passed through Dubai International in July -up 29.6 per cent from the same month last year when traffic numbers were affected by a runway refurbishment programme. Passenger numbers in July totalled to 6,682,676 compared to the 5,155,771 handled in July 2014 when the airport was reduced to one runway while a $1bn refurbishment programme was conducted over an 80 day span.
Al Maktoum International - Dubai World Central climbs cargo table
Cargo volumes at Al Maktoum International - Dubai World Central continued to rise sharply in the first half of 2015, as the airport continues to rise up the ranks of the top cargo airports worldwide edging into the 19th position up from 20th earlier in the year. Freight volumes surged 42 per cent in the first half of 2015 to 443,012 tonnes, up from the 311,365 tonnes achieved in the same period last year.
Air Astana to return to Dubai in October
Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flag-carrier, has confirmed it will re-launch services between Astana and Dubai on October 25th. The non-stop flight will be operated four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays using an Airbus A320. The service from Dubai to Astana offers greater convenience to Dubai based passengers as well as those located in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Emirates adds latest A380 on Dubai-Bangkok route
Emirates will add its fourth daily A380 service between Dubai and Bangkok with the up-gauge of its current services from December 1st. The new two-class A380 service will operate daily as flight EK376 from Dubai to Bangkok and EK377 from Bangkok to Dubai. The up-gauge from its current Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will see an increase in capacity of 255 seats per flight and 3,570 seats per week to and from the Thai capital city.
