Online tour operator Directline Holidays reports that the popularity of eurozone countries for late summer holidays endures, despite their economic struggles. Spain and Portugal in particular are proving popular with British holidaymakers due to competitive pricing and accommodation availability.
Media reports that the dip in the value of the pound against the Euro, making purchases abroad up to 11% more expensive, is affecting UK travellers are confirmed by online travel agent Directline Holidays which reports an 11% increase in all-inclusive bookings.
“Given the recent history of protests and civil war in several holiday hotspots in North Africa and the Middle East, it is understandable that UK travellers to Turkey may feel a little unsettled by TV and media reports of demonstrations in the country.”
