The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has added two new conferences for 2011 with a new Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Conference planned for Barbados June 1-3 and the Caribbean Boutique and Intimate Hotel Conference for Oct. 13 - 15 in St. Lucia.

Jamaica is projecting solid tourism growth in 2010. Speaking at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Marketplace 2010 travel trade event, which opened this week in Puerto Rico, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett reported that preliminary figures show that the island’s arrivals increased by four percent in 2009.

Josef Forstmayr is the President-Elect of Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), and will become the voice of tourism in the region when he takes up the presidency in June. He is also the Managing Director of Jamaica’s exclusive Round Hill Hotel & Villas, voted “World’s Leading Villa” seven years running by the World Travel Awards.
